Most of us really do not know where one of Uganda’s most prominent rapper, Keko has been for almost 7 years now. She has been missing on the music scene for a very long time and we have not heard any new music from her in a while. She has however shocked everyone by making the AFRIMMA nomination list with major acts like Rosa Ree, Rouge and Askia.

Keko broke onto the scene in 2010 with a beautiful heartfelt song dedicated to all Fallen Heroes putting kicking off her career in high gear.

In that moment, she dominated the female Hip-hop scene with no single competition lurking around her. She was a beast with the flow and her personality spoke volumes for a brand she had built from scratch. She was part of the Hip-hop revolution on the Ugandan music space and her contribution to the genre can never be undermined.

She graced the industry with massive jams like : How We Do It, Alwoo, Fly Solo, Mutima, Ready, Make You Dance. With that, she went ahead to register major wins representing Uganda at the global stage including at the 2011 Channel O awards where she won the Most Gifted East African Video award.

But all that success did not last long as she went into destructive behavior.A lot has been attributed to her drastic fall including her deal with Sony Music Ent. Drug abuse is one of the vices that has slowly robbed her of her shine.

With this nomination ,we hope she can be inspired to get off her feet and return to working on some new jams to revive her career .

As she battles some of the best best female rappers on the continent this year for an AFRIMMA in the Best Female Rap Act category, we wish her the best.
