A podcast is a collection of audio recordings that are customarily published in episodes and made available for streaming or downloading over the Internet. Listeners can subscribe to their favorite podcasts and listen to them online or offline; the best part is that the majority of podcasts are completely free. Podcasts, in general, are a viable alternative to traditional radio stations that rehash the same depressing content over and over. With podcasts, one can now find and listen to whatever they want, whether it's sports, news, stand-up comedy, or daily rants, with a quick search and the click of a button.

Podcasts have grown in popularity for a multitude of reasons. 74% of listeners tune in to learn new things, while others tune in for fun and escapism, staying up to date, taking a break, or being inspired. Whatever the reason, we can't deny that the podcast mania is one of the best things to happen to us.

Because nearly half of non-podcast listeners don't know where to find them, we've compiled a list of some of our favorite Kenyan podcasts that we think everyone should listen to.

Legally Clueless

If you enjoy narratives, you'll enjoy this one. The first on the list is the Legally Clueless Podcast, hosted by Adelle Onyango, a former radio presenter, social activist, and media personality. Adelle's podcast chronicles her journey as a fearless African woman who is continually reinventing herself. She also invites guests from various backgrounds and cultures to share their authentic African stories of pain, resilience, victories, and setbacks, all with the goal of encouraging and empowering others who are feeling disadvantaged in life. Weekly episodes of Legally Clueless are accessible on all streaming platforms.

The Mics Are Open

This is the podcast for you if you're looking for anything that might keep you entertained. G Money, Calvin, and Andy Young host the Mics Are Open Podcast, and the content they keep producing takes a slightly twisted perspective of life, love, friends with benefits, romantic relationships, and everything in between. The guys aren't reluctant to express themselves, and they do it with a sense of humour. The podcast is available on any streaming platform, with new episodes released on a weekly basis.

Surviving Nairobi

This podcast, now in its fifth season, provides tips, tricks, and stories for managing and surviving Nairobi's concrete jungle. If you're planning a vacation to Kenya, specifically to Nairobi, listen to a few episodes of this podcast first. Surviving Nairobi is hosted by Ivy and Hafare, and their content covers everything from the dos and don'ts, when and wheres, who's and whats of  city.

Guy Code

This podcast is concentrated towards the Kenyan man - or, to be more precise, to any man. The hosts use it as a platform to address and talk about issues that men face in society, as well as to provide solutions to issues such as parenting, finances, and relationships.

Kenyan WallStreet

Kenyan Wallstreet is the last but not least on our list. This podcast encompasses all areas of finance and business in Kenya throughout all of Africa. The hosts provide credible, well-informed perspectives on everything news, investment, stocks, Forex, and markets.

So, whether you're driving to work, running, getting ready for bed, or going on a road trip, keep these podcasts in mind for entertainment.
