Edirisa Musuuza alias Eddy Kenzo’s star keeps rising! The ‘sitya Loss’ hit maker has added to many of his music accolades, the Golden Play- button YouTube award.
The singer who is currently stuck in Ivory Coast due to the COVID19 lock-down in Uganda and other countries worldwide took to his social media platforms to announce the great news saying,
‘’Team Eddy Kenzo, our Gold is here. Thank you everyone. Golden boy. ‘’ He shared.
YouTube Creator Awards, commonly known as YouTube Play Buttons, are a series of gifts from YouTube that aim to recognize its most popular channels. They are based on a channel's subscriber count but are offered at the sole discretion of YouTube.
This development makes Eddy Kenzo the first recipient of the award in Uganda. Just last month, he hit one million subscribers on YouTube, a milestone yet to be achieved by any other Ugandan musician. His huge following on social media keeps growing and this might be just the first of many awards of that kind.
Early this year, Ugandan artistes Rema Namakula and Jose Chameleone were also presented with the Silver Creator Award that is presented to individuals with 100,000+ views on the streaming channel.
