In 2016, singer, Edrisa Musuza commonly known by his stage name, Eddy Kenzo was nominated in the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) in the category of "Best Live Act"

In the same category, he was nominated with Casper Nyovest from South Africa, Mafikizolo (South Africa), Flavor (Nigeria), and Stonebwoy (Ghana ).

Shortly after Casper Nyovest was announced winner, an upset Kenzo quickly took to social media to post: “politics."
Now that the MAMAs are slated to be held in Uganda. Kenzo was asked what he thought about missing out on the nomination list, he had this to say.

“I have no right to speak on people’s business, all I can say is that when I was nominated in 2016 in the same awards, I won but the award was given to someone else.”

Kenzo did not want to directly say it but it was written all over his face- he didn’t trust the awards to be free and fair especially after his awards were given to someone else.

Despite Kenzo being multitalented with a lot of awards to his name including the BET award, hit songs like Tweyagale, and millions of views to his music, he was not nominated in the awards.

From the look, the two sides must be having unresolved issues because looking at the nomination list, it feels not right for Kenzo not to even feature in the Ugandan category.

Well, one would argue that they are giving chance to the young and fresh talent, but what would Bebe Cool be doing in the same list with John Blaq, Vinka, and Daddy Andre?

Bebe Cool has no-hit, numbers and a revered track record in winning international awards that match Kenzo’s.

The seemingly unbothered Kenzo said he is using this time when he is not nominated to work on his forthcoming studio album.
