Musicians, King Michael, and Big eye held a concert amidst Covid19 regulations and non of the two was jailed or condemned for doing the show.

It should be noted that the ministry of health had put in place very stringent measures to help prevent the easy spread of the Covid19 virus

Among these regulations was the stopping of any nature of performances by musicians so that crowds can be avoided so that the virus can't spread easily.

Bigeye and King Michael’s move to hold a show amidst such circumstances was wrong and provocative given the fact that all Ugandan artists didn’t have any staged shows during the festive season due to the restrictions.

The few that had shows, were booked outside Uganda like Fefebusi who had a show in Juba, and Spice Diana who also had a show in South Africa.

Against that background, two weeks ago, Ugandan artist expressed their displeased sentiments after Nigerian Singers, Tems, and Omah Lay staged a fully sold-out concert that was filled.

The two were arrested by police citing breach of Covid19 rules by staging a concert that didn’t abide by the Covid 19 regulations.

It is surprising that after King Michael and Bigeye held an equally illegal concert, no artist has come out to condemn the show and this includes the police as well.

This only exposes the double standards in police and the ministry of health and also how selfish and segregative Ugandan artists are.

This would have been the right time for them to speak up against the double standards in government because if Michaele and Bigeye were not regime apologists, things would have been different.
