We know her as Spice Diana, and we absolutely love her. Since she hit Uganda’s showbiz in 2014, Spice has just kept getting better, and right now, she is one of the most successful musicians in the Ugandan entertainment space.

But before she became Spice Diana, the ‘Omusheshe’ hitmaker was Nawukwaya Hajara Diana- a talented young girl from a modest background with great ambition. 

Let’s go back in time and discover Spice Diana’s roots, starting with where she came from to what she did before fame. Her story of success is quite intriguing.

Who is Spice Diana?

Spice Diana is a talented award-winning musician from Uganda. She began her music career in 2014 with the release of her debut single ‘Onsanula.’ 

Since launching her career, she has released back-to-back hits that have received massive airplay across Africa. 

She has also collaborated with other stars from East Africa, including Mbosso, Weasel, Timmy Tdat, and Zuchu.

Where was Spice Diana born?


Spice Diana is from Mpererwa, Kampala city. She was born 26 years ago to a young single mother called Nantale Beatrice. 

When she was around five years old, Diana’s parents separated, and she moved with her mother to Kibuli, in Kampala district.

At one point, Spice Diana lived in Nakulabye Ghetto in a small house that sometimes her mother struggled to pay rent.

Spice Diana’s mother, Nantale Beatrice, was forced into an early marriage in her teenage years. Shortly after conceiving Diana, who is the firstborn, she parted ways with her first husband.

Natale later got married again to a man in Kibuli, but when this relationship didn’t work out, she moved out and raised her children on her own.

Very little is known about Spice Diana’s biological father and stepfather, and it’s unclear whether she has a relationship with either of them.

However, Spice has two younger siblings whom she is very fond of. She also has a particularly soft spot for her mother and her grandmother, whom she recently built a house for.

What is Spice Diana’s tribe?


Spice Diana comes from the largest ethnic tribe in Uganda- Baganda.

She is proud of her heritage, and she often sings in Luganda, English, and Kiswahili, sometimes mixing the three languages.

Besides being talented and very beautiful, Spice Diana is also smart, and she holds a bachelor’s degree.

For her primary education, Spice Diana attended Kibuli and Varreria primary schools in Kibuli, in Kampala district.

She then proceeded to St. Peter’s senior secondary school, Nsambya, and Kampala Citizens School, where she performed exceptionally well and earned a spot at Uganda’s oldest university.

In 2018, Spice Diana graduated from Makerere University with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Arts and Design.

Where does Spice Diana live?


Spice Diana recently completed the construction of her six-bedroom mansion in Makindaye, Kampala.
 
She currently lives in this modern multi-million house which is located along Salama road.

Who is Spice Diana’s boyfriend?


Spice Diana is keen on keeping her relationship private. At some point, it was rumored that she was dating her manager, Roger but Spice denied the allegations.

Currently, Spice Diana is in a relationship with a fellow musician- Nince Henry.
